The Republic of Armenia is interested in cooperation with the Ulyanovsk region
At the IV International Forum "Antikontrafakt-2016" in Yerevan, which took plave on 22 November, the head of the region Sergey Morozov and the Governor of the Shirak region Ovsep Simonyan signed an Action Plan on implementation of the Cooperation Agreement for 2016-2019.
The document aims to create interaction in the field of economy, industry, transport, agro-industrial production and agricultural sector, business activities. In addition, the parties considered the possibility of bilateral cooperation in the sphere of city planning, housing and utilities infrastructure, fuel and energy sector, education, culture, health care services and social support of the population.
Within the visit to Armenia on 21 and 22 November, the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov held a number of meetings. In particular, the head of the region discussed with the President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan issues on improvement of investment climate and the new investments inflow. He also talked with the president of the Russian Armenians Union Ara Abramyan about issues of social and economic cooperation and considered the possibility to hold the main Russian-Armenian Business Forum in Ulyanovsk in 2017. In addition, the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region made a speech at the plenary session of the IV International Forum "Antikontrafakt-2016" and reported about the work of the regional commission on countering illicit trafficking in industrial products.
We would like to remind that the Ulyanovsk region maintains close relations with the Shirak region stipulated by the Cooperation Agreement, which was signed in 2009. The region actively participated in the creation of memorial complex to the Russian officers on the Hill of Honour in Gyumri, as well as coordinating of work on improvement of the memorial and construction of the monument.
Currently the cooperation exists in the field of agricultural industry, small and medium entrepreneurship, health care services, social development, culture, science and education.
