Russian Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich highly praised economic achievements of the Ulyanovsk region
Last Tuesday at a meeting with editors-in-chief of the Volga Federal District's media sources, Mikhail Babich summed up the results of the outgoing year and noted high quality of the work carried out in the region in the sphere of relations with investors and PSEZ.
"In just a few years, they managed to turn an unprofitable, subsidized region in "an economic eye candy". Just look at the amount of investors they have and how many enterprises have been opened with foreign capital", - Mikhail Babich emphasized.
In addition, he reported that next year Dimitrovgrad will receive 83 million rubles under the project on development of monotowns.
"For the first ten months of the current year, ten investment projects in the amount of over 20 billion rubles have been implemented in the Ulyanovsk region. In collaboration with the regional Government and the Government of the Russian Federation, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives and public associations of entrepreneurs, such organizations as the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation and the Corporation for Enterprise Development carry out systematic work on improvement of investment climate", - the Chairman of the Government Alexander Smekalin explained.
Upon the initiative of the Governor Sergey Morozov, systematic efforts are made to improve investment and entrepreneurial climate in the region. A risk-oriented model for means of control and supervision is being implemented in the pilot mode. According to the experts of the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation, so far, construction of three enterprises has been completed in the territory of the Zavolzhye Industrial Park. Three projects have been implemented in the territory of the Ulyanovsk SEZ, one more - in Cherdaklinsky district, and three projects - in Ulyanovsk.
The Jokey Plastik plant for production of plastic packaging invested 700 million rubles in creation of the enterprise. Public investment in the amount of 3,329 billion rubles were provided to complete construction of the first start-up complex of the Ulyanovsk SEZ. In April, within the first phase of project implementation, LLC T1 (previously known as AAR Rus) constructed a logistic complex with a special customs regime. Construction of the complex's second stage will start in the first quarter of 2017. A plant of JSC PROMTEKH-Ulyanovsk on production of cable onboard systems has also been established in the territory of the Ulyanovsk SEZ.
About 300 million rubles were invested in the Heliport Ulyanovsk helicopter complex. Among the projects implemented this year is modernization of a livestock breeding complex at the largest peasant farm enterprise of Cherdaklinsky district (OOO Vozrozhdeniye). The total investment in the project made about 700 million rubles. About 2 billion rubles were used to build hypermarkets of Leroy Merlin and Dekathlon. The first one sells household and construction goods and the second one specializes in sports products. Thanks to these projects, more than 400 new jobs have been created.
