Ulyanovsk region non-resource export to be increased

This was made possible thanks to a quadrilateral agreement signed within the VIII All-Russian Business Forum "Business Climate in Russia". The region became the first among territorial entities of the Russian Federation where such document was adopted.

The Co-Chairman of AFD (accounting and filing department) of the All-Russian public organization of small and medium business "Support of Russia" Engel Hadiullin, the Chairman of AFD of the All-Russian public organization "Business Russia" Ruslan Ilyasov, the Director of the Export Support Center of the Ulyanovsk region Corporation for Enterprise Development Pavel Balandin and Head of the Ulyanovsk Customs Office Sergey Zhdanovich signed the document.

As the Chairman of the Board of the Corporation for Enterprise Development of Ulyanovsk Region Ruslan Gaynetdinov noted, the main objective of this document is to identify and address the challenges faced by the Ulyanovsk companies, including the small ones, which work in the field of non-resource export. "The document provides for carrying out of analytical work in the sphere of international economic activity of the region. It also assumes working out practical proposals to overcome barriers in the field of foreign trade and to promote non-resource export goods, which in the future will be included in the strategy for development of the region's export business. This will enable us to provide additional support to the export-oriented enterprises and to strengthen the capacity of the Ulyanovsk region", - the Chairman said.

According to the Vice-President of the All-Russia business association "Delovaya Rossiya" (Business Russia) Ilya Syomin, a similar agreement has already been signed in Moscow by the heads of Business Russia, the Federal Customs Service, the Russian Export Center and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. "This agreement will allow the Ulyanovsk region to provide additional support for development of non-resource export, to create a pool of the most advanced priority projects in this sphere and to forward them in the manual mode", - Ilya Syomin emphasized. He also noted that an idea emerged at the Forum to create a "Great Volga River Route" based on a logistic hub, which is currently under construction in the Ulyanovsk region.

Ulyanovsk Business Association was established in the region by order of the Governor. It is working on development of logistics routes and is designing the project of the hub. The hub will collect goods from Russian regions and then send them to the Eastern markets. Iran will become the pilot site for implementation of this project. Currently, the Ulyanovsk region delegation led by Sergey Morozov is working in the Republic.  Today the amount of export to the Islamic Republic of Iran has significantly increased thanks to the work on strengthening of export relations with this country. The main trade item is grain, which account for more than 80% of the total amount of exported goods.
