Ulyanovsk region is considered as a potential platform to hold Russian-Chinese Youth Games in summer 2019

This initiative was introduced by the Governor Sergey Morozov at a meeting with the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov, which took place in Moscow on 28 December.

"Along with investment attraction and creation of a favorable business climate, we focus on human development and promotion of a healthy lifestyle. It is in this regard that we implement a lot of projects connected with physical education and sport. At the same time, we have been on friendly terms with the People's Republic of China for a long time and cooperating closely in different spheres. Our next joint project are summer Russian-Chinese Youth Games, which we suggest holding in the Ulyanovsk region in 2019. For us it was very important to receive support from the Federal Ministry. Pavel Kolobkov approved our initiative, so now we will work towards that objective", - Sergey Morozov emphasized.

During the meeting, the head of the region and Pavel Kolobkov also paid particular attention to construction of new sporting venues in the Ulyanovsk region and reconstruction of the already existing ones. "The region will surely carry out all obligations related to construction and rehabilitation of sporting venues. In the coming days we will open a Sports and Recreation Center in Novaya Malykla. Residents of the village and its neighbors are looking forward to this event. It will be a big center available for both professional sportspeople and physical education enthusiasts. In 2017, we will also complete construction of two other facilities: a pool in Inza and a sports complex near the Ammunition plant in Ulyanovsk. And, of course, we will continue construction of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Centre, which was started not so long ago. The regional budget for the upcoming two years includes 250 million rubles that have been reserved for implementation of this project", - the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Kuzmin noted.

"The Rhythmic Gymnastics Centre is very important for Russian gymnastics and for our sport. For this reason, the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation will meet our financial responsibilities and in 2018 we will allocate 250 million rubles necessary for construction of the center, which will work for the benefit of our sport", - the Minister of Sport of the Russian Federation Pavel Kolobkov noted.

During the meeting, a decision was made to hold a session of the Organizing Committee of the I International Festival of National Sports of CIS countries in the Ulyanovsk region. Pavel Kolobkov will participate in its activities. The event will take place in the region in August 2017. More than one thousand athletes from ten CIS countries will take part in it. "We will improve the whole sports infrastructure and repair important social facilities", - Sergey Morozov assured.
