At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which took place on 1 June 2017, the head of the region Sergey Morozov and the Acting Governor of the Republic of Karelia Artur Parfenchikov signed an agreement on co-operation in trade and economic, scientific and technological, social, and cultural spheres.
The parties discussed enhancement of trade relations, as well as prospects of cooperation in the sphere of industry especially while the Ulyanovsk region is actively developing equipment production for ""green energy". "We have some interesting suggestions in regard to wind industry. We are considering offers about the molding case of our "Petrozavodskmash" and we could combine efforts so that production was placed in Russia", - Artur Parfenchikov said.
The Governor Sergey Morozov talked about the perspectives of such cooperation. “We need to meet for further and more detailed discussion of our plans in the sphere of wind energy. Having combined our experience and efforts, we will be able to make our projects more effective”, - the head of the region emphasized.
Recently economic relations between the Ulyanovsk Machine-Tool Factory and the Petrozavodsk branch of AEM-technology (Petrozavodskmash) have been actively developing in order to implement the project «Localization of mounting production for machines of Ecoline series within the special investment contract". This contract was signed between the Government of the Russian Federation, the German-Japanese group of companies DMG MORI SEIKI and the Ulyanovsk region. Its aim is to reduce the import share of machines with Ecoline CNC.
