Customization center for Russian liners to be established in PSEZ of the Ulyanovsk region
The agreement of intent was signed by the Governor Sergey Morozov and the president of Irkut Corporation Oleg Demchenko within the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2017 on 18 July.
“Over the years we worked together with Irkut Corporation, Aviastar and in the whole United Aircraft Corporation to develop a very ambitious project on creation of a customization center in Russia. We receive a lot of components, such as the ones for interior and kitchen, for our aircrafts from abroad. We think that it is unfair to buy things if we can manufacture them ourselves. Taking into account that the only Russian port special economic zone is in Ulyanovsk, the decision was made to create an industrial park there. Today we have signed the agreement and have already started working on this project. We are going to start building in 2018 and to complete the customization center by the end of 2019”, - Sergey Morozov emphasized.
Production of salon interior elements and painting for SukhoiSuperjet100 and MC-21 planes is planned to be placed in Ulyanovsk on the basis of the industrial complex.
"This agreement includes establishment of a center of competence in the territory of the PSEZ hangar complex. It will install interior elements and paint planes of Irkut Corporation in the same way as it is done now with SukhoiSuperjet100 planes that arrive from Komsomolsk-on-Amur. The interior will be installed at Aviastar and the painting will be carried out at Spektr-Avia. In the future UAK is going to create a single center of competences and a UAK customization center on the basis of these projects. The second step of implementation will be localization of aviation interiors production, which will allow to attract a wide range of companies to the territory of the special economic zone", - explained Denis Baryshnikov, the Director-General of PSEZ.
The Governor Sergey Morozov and the President of UAK Yury Slyusar signed one more agreement at MAKS-2017, which assumes a possibility to build an industrial park on the basis of JSC "Aviastar-SP". It will allow to attract investments into creation of new productions and to use production facilities, which will become available after optimization, more effectively.
