It will be the country's third organization of this kind (the other ones are in Moscow and Kazan). The hi-tech medical radiology center in Dimitrovgrad will also start working to the full extent. It will provide patients with proton beam and radionuclide therapy. These new opportunities will improve efficiency cancer service in the Ulyanovsk region dramatically”, - Sergey Morozov noted.

According to the regional Minister of Health, Family and Social wellbeing of the Ulyanovsk region Rasheed Abdullov, the regional cancer detection center will continue updating its facilities. In 2017, the chemotherapy department was repaired and this allowed to increase the number of places for patients from 40 to 70. This year it is planned to complete renovation of the second chemotherapy department at the radiological block. About 3.6 million rubles will be used for these purposes. Thus, the final budget for this sphere will be doubled and the waiting time of hospitalization will be reduced from a month to two weeks.

In the future, it is planned to create a day chemotherapy hospital on the first floor of the second surgical block. In 2018, the cancer detection center will also receive additional equipment.
