Ulyanovsk region invested over 6 billion rubles in modernization of manufacturing enterprises
The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin mentioned the need to finance technical re-equipment of productions in his Message to the Federal Assembly.
“In order to further change the national economy structure and improve its competitiveness, it is imperative to use the sources of growth at a fundamentally different level. First of all, it is important to increase labor productivity on a new technological, managerial and personnel basis. Increased investment is the second source of growth. Investment should be primarily used for upgrading and technologically re-equipping the industries and retrofitting the manufacturing industry. We need to ensure the highest dynamics here, to reach a level where, on average, every second enterprise within a year carries out technological changes. That is when the renewal effort in the economy and industry will be noticeable”, – the Head of State.
According to the Governor of the Ulyanovsk region Sergey Morozov, the most essential changes in the region take place in the sphere of mechanical engineering. “Most large enterprises of the region are carrying out modernization of their production. Just in 2017, JSC Aviastar-SP allocated over 2 billion rubles for modernization of production; the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant - 1.7 billion rubles; the Ulyanovsk Instrument Manufacturing Bureau - 850 billion rubles. The sums spent by many other enterprises are estimated in millions of rubles. It will allow to increase the outputs and to release new kinds of products, which can compete not only on Russian but also on international markets”, – Sergey Morozov emphasized.
According to the experts of the regional Ministry for Industry, Construction, Housing and Public Utilities, and Transport, enterprises of the military and defense sector are carrying out technical re-equipment within the Development of the Military-Industrial Complex of the Russian Federation Federal Target Program for 2011-2020. “Over this time the region has arranged the production of hi-tech and high-precision goods at the Iskra plant and NPO Mars. The Ulyanovsk Cartridge Works is preparing for the launch of a new production facility. Production of a new type of cartridges, which has never been manufactured at the country's field-oriented enterprises before, will be arranged there to the benefit of Russian law enforcement agencies. We continue construction of a product line at Aviastar. It will allow to reduce time required to manufacture the modified Il-76 and Il-78”, – said Andrey Tyurin, the First Deputy Prime Minister.
Over the last 5 years, one of the largest plants in the region – UAZ – has upgraded welding and painting productions. In January 2018 a lot of work was carried out to improve the quality review and a new test track was constructed. The plant has some major plans for modernization of press lines and introduction of modern quality control systems.
