Thirty-three non-profit organizations are implementing projects for harmonization of inter-ethnic relations in the Ulyanovsk region

The region has summed up results of the grant contest for socially oriented non-profit organizations.


In total, ten million rubles have been distributed between NPOs. By order of the Governor Sergey Morozov, in 2018 the sum for support of projects that aim to strengthen international and interfaith unity has been increased by more than two million rubles. Thirty-three winning NPOs will implement their projects to promote intellectual and moral education of the population, hold national festivals, competitions and events addressing traditions and customs of the peoples who live the Ulyanovsk region.

Six organizations have won grants worth 500 thousand rubles. A number of events will be carried out under these funds. These include Mordovian Shumbrat, Tatar Sabantuy, the All-Russian traditional song contest "Singing Russia", festive events to mark the 170th anniversary since the birth of Ivan Yakovlev (an educator of Chuvash people), Youth Cossack Games "Volzhskiy Spolokh", and the All-Russian festival competition of Tatar folklore.

Sixteen NPOs have received grants of no more than 300 thousand rubles. Under these funds they will carry out such events as Days of Mordovian Culture in the Ulyanovsk region, Chuvash holiday Akatui, a festival of Ukrainian culture "Chervona Ruta", a Day of Tatar Culture and Language in Dimitrovgrad (to celebrate the 20th anniversary of autonomy). Eleven NPOs were granted subsidies in amount of 200 thousand rubles. Orthodox congregation of the Epiphany church in the village of Arskoye will hold the Day of Slavic Writing and Culture festival. In addition, Stanitsa Troitskosungurskaya, a local Cossack public organization of Novospassky District of the Ulyanovsk region, will organize Cossack military patriotic camp.

The Council for inter-ethnic relations has been working in the region for more than ten years. It is an effective platform for development and support of the national policy. The region annually carries out festivals, educational and cultural forums, and events to support unity, prevent terrorism and extremism, and support peoples of the Ulyanovsk region.
