Ulyanovsk region is a candidate to host the International Garden Exhibition

On your numerous requests of regional gardeners, the Governor Sergey Morozov will announce this initiative at the federal level. By order of the head of the region the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources of the Ulyanovsk region will study this issue.


As Sergey Morozov has emphasized, a similar event has never been held in Russia before. "Since 1960, twenty garden exhibitions have already taken place; the next one will take place in the Netherlands in 2022. Considering that gardening is one of the Ulyanovsk region's trademarks, we can become a platform to host this event. This kind of exhibition is an impressive one, but we have all resources necessary to hold it successfully", – the head of the region said.

The main goal of the project is to develop gardening business, to make it possible for producers and specialists in this sphere to meet in one place and to talk to each other, to exchange their experience and knowledge. In addition, it will expand sales territory and the amount of potential partners.

According to Mikhail Semyonkin, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources of the Ulyanovsk region, it is necessary to think format of the event thoroughly. “Even now it is clear that it has to be an event that will involve gardeners from around the world. Stands of the exhibition will demonstrate all achievements of farming and gardening, scientific developments, and the best practices. Training seminars and lectures will be organized, and famous landscape designers and other professionals will present their projects in the field of country architecture, construction, gardening and floristics”, – the Minister explained.

According to specialists of relevant agencies, today the Ulyanovsk region has 238 registered gardening partnerships and 164 thousand dachas. The total area is 12 thousand hectares. There are more than 500 thousand gardeners.
