Ulyanovsk region is among three leading regions of the Volga Federal District on employment of graduates

Following the results of 2017, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation has developed a rating of Russian regions. It was created based on the share of employed graduates of educational organizations in the total number of people who asked for assistance in finding a suitable job. The Ulyanovsk region took the second place.

According to the experts of the Agency for Human Resources Development of the Ulyanovsk region, four hundred and seventy graduates turned to the employment services in 2017; three hundred and seven of them have already found a job.

By order of the Governor Sergey Morozov, a comprehensive set of measures is used in the region to support graduates of educational organizations and to help them find a job. “For us, it is of paramount importance to ensure that our children will want to live in the Ulyanovsk region. That they will not go to other regions of the country and stay here instead, so that their talent, knowledge and work helped us develop economy of the region. A Youth Employment Center helps young people to find suitable vacancies. Every year we create a consolidated list of employers who are ready to provide graduates with a job. It includes about two and a half thousand vacancies”, - Sergey Morozov emphasized.

In addition, the region is implementing a number of projects to promote full professional self-fulfillment of youth. One of them is the We Light Stars project, which was launched in 2016. It brings together both employers and students. Companies can find young specialists and graduates can receive job or training offers. In 2018, 694 students of the educational organizations of the region submitted applications to participate in this competition.

The event "Days of Municipal Units in Higher Education Institutions of the Ulyanovsk Region: from Training to Employment" takes place in the region on an annual basis. It provides students with information about future development of the regional labor market, available job offers, and measures of social support for young specialists of the industry.

“We aim to create platforms so that school children and students could  interact with employers directly. We think that this approach is an effective measure to provide youth with employment in the territory of the region. Some of the most effective ways is to hold job fairs and educational classes. They are carried out every third Wednesday of month in all municipalities”, - reported Denis Gerasimov, the head of the Agency.
