Ulyanovsk Region Takes Leading Position in Industrial Production in Volga Federal District

According to the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat), the figures have increased for all types of production. Mining reached 101.4%; electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply amounted to 113.6%; water supply and wastewater disposal, waste collection and disposal, anti-pollution activities - 105.5%. Traditionally, manufacturing showed the best result and achieved 124%.

In terms of gross output in January-October 2021 compared with the same period in 2020, the following manufacturing industries showed the best results: production of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (121.6%), electric equipment (124,9%), furniture (123.5%), textiles (138.7%), paper and paper products (128.9%), printing art (129.5%), coke and petroleum products (151.5%), rubber and plastic goods (134.9%), computers, electronic and optical devices (192.8%).

“Most manufacturing industries have overcome the crisis caused by the pandemic and returned to their pre-COVID indicators, and one third of them shows significant increase compared with 2019. This refers to metallurgy, as well as production of clothes, beverages, rubber and plastic products, furniture, machinery and equipment,” said Nikolai Zontov, Acting Minister of Economic Development and Industry of Ulyanovsk Region.
