The ceremony took place on 30 November as part of an expanded meeting of the Regional Vice-Chancellors' Committee with the participation of Governor Aleksey Russkikh.
The discussion focused on development of cooperation between universities, authorities and business. Aleksey Russkikh once again noted the significance of UlSU's victory in the competition under the Priority 2030 federal programme.
He said, “This success demonstrates once again how important our selected development plan is. We have already achieved a lot this year, combined efforts of the best universities working in the Ulyanovsk region, and are working to improve mechanisms for collaboration between public authorities and higher education institutions. I am convinced that the Ulyanovsk region's future is directly connected with education development.”
UlSU became the winner of the federal competition "Priority 2030". The university will receive a grant to implement its development strategy as part of the academic leadership programme. This programme aims to improve Russia's competitiveness in the field of education, science and technology.
During the meeting, an agreement was signed to establish a consortium "Region - Development Platform" by UlSU, UlSAU, IT companies, the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation, the Ulyanovsk Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Agency for Innovative Development of Ulyanovsk Region, and the Foundation “Ulyanovsk – the Capital of Culture”. The consortium will improve the quality of human capital, increase workforce capacity in the research and development sector, carry out high-impact research, implement projects under Priority 2030 programme and help educational institutions adapt to the population demand and changes in the labor market.
In addition, university employees working in the Ulyanovsk region received department and regional awards during the event.
