Ulyanovsk Region Increased Export of Its Goods by Almost 15% in 2021
This indicator amounted to USD 543 million last year.
Ulyanovsk entrepreneurs exported vehicles, furniture and processed wood products, mechanical equipment, inorganic chemicals, and items made from ferrous metals.
Last year, 109 countries became trading partners of the Ulyanovsk region. The largest ones included Algeria, Kazakhstan, the USA, Belarus, Germany, Cambodia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Hungary, and China.
According to Ruslan Gainetdinov, Head of the Ulyanovsk Region Corporation for Entrepreneurship Development, Ulyanovsk business sector is growing even during the pandemic. Entrepreneurs are increasing the turnover to bring their products to foreign markets. The region continues supporting them through financial and educational tools. For example, assistance is provided while preparing documents and concluding a contract, as well as during the certification process, preparation for export shipments, and transactions.
Important focus areas include participation of export-oriented companies in international business missions with the support of the Russian Export Center. A business mission to South Africa is planned for May to promote oil, gas and power-generating equipment; June will feature a multi-sector business mission to Vietnam with goods made by various manufacturers.
The region organized a week dedicated to the national project "International Cooperation and Export"; the event takes place from 31 January to 6 February. Entrepreneurs can attend several training activities. Among them is a webinar with expert Ilya Shpirt on "Export without Problems. The Secret to Starting It Easily", which will be held on 4 February.
