Dynamo Football Academy Opens Its Branch in Ulyanovsk Region

The opening ceremony took place on October 7. The event was attended by Sergey Stepashin (Chairman of FC Dynamo Moscow Advisory Board), Alexey Russkikh (Governor of Ulyanovsk Region), Pavel Pivovarov (Director General at FC Dynamo) and Alexander Kuznetsov (Head of the Dynamo Football Academy named after Lev Yashin).

Management of VTB Bank and Sollers Group LLC, who are partners of the project, also took part in the ceremony.

“About 20 thousand residents play football in the Ulyanovsk region. We are opening a branch of the Academy today, which is a milestone for us. At first, about 250 children will train here for free, and we hope to increase this number in the future. This can become a good start for talented children. I think it is also important that football, as a team game, teaches useful skills that help people in everyday life,” said Alexey Russkikh.

The branch in the Ulyanovsk region is the first one in the Volga Federal District and the fifth one in the country.

“There is a good reason why we chose Ulyanovsk. It is a historical place for our country, people here really love football, and the region has all the necessary infrastructure. A lot also depends on the region's government. Alexey Yuryevich promptly responded to the proposed initiative. I really hope that the children will grow up and start playing either for the main Dynamo team or for Ulyanovsk's "Volga". Football is the same for everyone in this regard,” noted Sergey Stepashin.

According to Pavel Pivovarov, Director General at FC Dynamo, the Academy is planning to hold up to 12 different tournaments in the regions with its branches. The best players are selected at such events to give a boost to their professional career in this sphere.
