Ulyanovsk Region Resumes Construction of Aluminum Can Factory

Arnest Group, the new owner of Ball Corporation's assets in Russia, decided to continue construction of the facility in the industrial park "Zavolzhye".

Alexey Russkikh, Governor of Ulyanovsk Region, stressed that the regional government will provide the company with all necessary support at all stages of the investment project. Construction of such a facility will positively affect social and economic activities in the region.

Ball Corporation froze its investments in the project implementation in the Ulyanovsk region in March 2022. The new owner is going to commission the factory by the end of 2023. The total investment will exceed ten billion rubles, and the project will be supported by the Ulyanovsk Region Development Corporation.

The modern factory with an area of more than 37 thousand square meters will have high-speed innovative equipment that can make up to two thousand aluminum cans per minute. The full production capacity will be more than 1.5 billion items per year. The company plans to create up to 200 new jobs.

“We are very pleased to announce the restart of such a significant project. As leaders in the market, we recognize our responsibility to our customers and the state for development of the domestic aluminum packaging. We are confident that we will achieve this goal thanks to the factory's excellent logistics location near our clients combined with the favorable investment climate of the Ulyanovsk region in general,” said Alexey Sagal, President of the Arnest Group.

As a reference:

The plant in Ulyanovsk will become the fourth site for production of aluminum can packaging in Russia. Is is part of the Arnest Group along with facilities in Argayash (Chelyabinsk Region), Vsevolozhsk ( Leningrad Region) and Naro-Fominsk ( Moscow Region).

Arnest Group acquired these factories from the Ball Corporation (the USA) in September 2022 after the company announced its withdrawal from the Russian market and the suspension of investments.
